Attached is a letter directed to Governor Andrew Cuomo asking that the budget allocate funding for tuition assistance for currently incarcerated individuals in the FY 2015-2016 budget. We are imploring Cuomo to include funds in the budget because this would secure permanent resources and it will (we hope) minimize the contentious responses that derailed last year’s efforts to fund in-prison college programs.

We are asking that our members sign and send to this letter to the Governor’s office via email and snail mail using the following address

Online: http://www.governor.ny.gov/contact

MAIL: The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo
Governor of New York State

You can also call the Governor’s office and ask that he fulfill his promise and provide funding for in-prison college programs.
